The Whistling Train

The Whistling Train

By Nadir.

Have you ever thought about the sound of a whistling train at night when it's quiet and dark
It whistles past like a lovelorn lover in search of his beloved
Whistling away in the darkness of the night
Going over hills through, the woods and past fields and villages
Pining and searching for his loved one; lost and way worn
The poor lover is crestfallen and distraught screaming through the night calling out
It has always fascinated me makes me feel
sad.
From the distance we can hear, through the dark night, through the mist the sound of the whistle of the speeding train breaking the silence of the night.
