Poem: A Walk in the Pristine Hinterland. By Ali Hamid Khan
When you
are tired and frazzled
When the
going gets tough
When the
roads are crooked
When the
burden weighs you down
What you
need then to do to free yourself
Pack
your bags and head towards the woods
Walk
towards the quiet soporific village
Just
roam around aimlessly soaking in the peace
Away
from the harsh and crowded cities
Away
from the clamorous traffic
The
wilderness is lovely and the quiescent beauty enrapturing
Lie down
under the shade of the tree, relax and let the world go by
Admire
the bees and the birds and the bracing breeze
Soak in
the beauty of the serene and somnolent wilderness
Take a
dip in the crystal clear water of the flowing stream
Here the
mind is free and the body relaxed
The
sound of the rustling leaves is music to the ears.
This is
the place where the mind is free to roam
